Elmdon Crime Update 19/7/26-27/7/26

Good Morning Elmdon Residents,

I hope you are all doing well. I've returned back from my holiday and the whole team has jumped back into a very busy week indeed!

Crime Updates:

On 20/7/26, we had a theft from the person on VALLEY ROAD. These offenders have distracted the victim and stolen a gold bracelet before driving away. We will not tolerate offending like this and targeting those most vulnerable. This investigation is progressing at pace with extensive CCTV trawls taking place along VALLEY ROAD and adjoining roads. We would like to thank all local residents who have assisted us greatly in trying to identify the offenders and vehicle. If you have footage and have not yet been seen by officers, please do get in touch.

On 21/7/26, there was a theft of motor vehicle of a Ford Fiesta on ROWOOD DRIVE by unknown means. Fortunately, this vehicle has since been recovered by the owner.

On 25/7/26, there was an attempted theft of a Ford Ranger on EDEN ROAD by two unknown males wearing masks. It appears they were attempting to steal it using keyless methods. Fortunately, they were not successful taking the car. We continue to advise extra measures such as steering locks, immobilisers, and CCTV/Ring doorbells to make it as difficult as possible for these thieves who look to take things that DO NOT belong to them!

Good News:

The team executed a warrant in the early hours last week in ELMDON along with the Operational Support Unit and our Drone teams. The warrant was successful and we walked away with Class B Drugs and a number of weapons. This is part of an ongoing investigation and further enquires are ongoing. Weapons out of the hands of criminals and drugs off the streets and in police custody is the kind of outcome we all want.

The team have made a number of arrests this past week. The team put one suspect behind a cell door on suspicion of rape and another for possession of a bladed article following a sighting of someone with a bladed article in the town centre. These are separate and ongoing enquires which we are proud to assist with.

The team ran a speed operation in a number of locations highlighted as being an issue by the local community in SILHILL. We were around Seven-Star Road and Silhill Hall Road to begin with and ensured that those travelling were doing so at the legal limit ensuing that as the school holidays set in, the roads in Solihull are a safer place. Cars were stopped who were identified to have been speeding.

The team were invited to a community meeting at the Damson Pub in Elmdon following concerns raised by members of the local community around some of our local priorities. It was a productive and enjoyable sit down with everyone and I would like to thank those who attended.

The same thanks goes out to our dedicated Streetwatch groups who have been out with our PCSO’s pounding the pavement this set.
